Personalised education support: putting pupils first
Chalkline Education & Support started as an idea to do better, after seeing countless pupils being left behind because of an approach to learning that just didn’t work. We had seen first hand how a ‘one size fits all’ approach to education could massively bring a disadvantage to pupils. Every pupil is an individual, and WILL thrive if education is approached in a way that works for them. We began working with local authorities and schools to offer an alternative to the typical agencies - one that is managed by experienced educators instead of recruiters that can’t offer effective support for tutors.
Our assigned tutors are individually selected to work with each pupil, and we encourage all of our tutors to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the pupil - be it adapting work to fit their preferred learning style through a range of visual, auditory, read/write or kinaesthetic activities, setting SMART targets, or supporting to address the root cause of some of their barriers like anxiety or negative association with education.
Every member of the team is directly supported by the managing director, who supports and oversees quality auditing for EVERY weekly report, with regular tutor observations, allocation and tracking all staff CPD training with guidance - given his proven track record of making huge leaps forward where pupils have previously been disengaged from education altogether.

Rolling services & bespoke support
These services are invoiced weekly, and are in place for pupils that may need short-term support. All of our rolling services can also be arranged on a block booking basis (50+ hours) for a reduced rate. Block bookings are non-refundable so please ensure the hours booked will be required. We work with a wide range of age groups and learning needs, and have a network of specialists to help pupils achieve their potential. If you can’t quite see what you need, contact us so we can put something together that will work. We work with SEND teams, designated teachers, and local education authorities in supporting pupils from primary age all the way through to post-16.
Tutoring & mentoring
Tutoring could take place in person, or remotely and our tutors carry out sessions and produce a weekly report that is quality assured before being sent to you. Tutors are supported with observations, training, and regular feedback. Each weekly report contains SMART targets that are individual to that pupil, and evidence of learning and progress measures are collated along their learning journey.
Like our tutor support, we can offer mentoring in person or remotely. Just like tutoring, a detailed weekly report would be sent, however a more individualised ‘milestone’ focused approach would take place. Our mentors are experienced in working with disengagement and challenging behaviours, and we combine other services to collaboratively offer support in overcoming barriers, forming meaningful relationships and positive progression.

Reintegration
Our tutors don’t just deliver maths and english - we have reintegration specialists that work with pupils on a 1:1 basis, effectively building trust and rapport, and facilitating engaging sessions in line with what that pupil enjoys in order to reintegrate them back into school or an alternative provision.
We support pupils with a holistic approach that nurtures a positive association with education, and encourages engagement through sessions that carefully considers their SEMH needs and any other factors that may impact the reintegration process.
We work closely with schools, and are flexible in our delivery - working with the pupil at home before introducing sessions at school in line with agreed targets.
Functional skills
We have partnered up with some wonderful provisions, and work collaboratively with them in order to offer certified Functional Skills Qualifications in order to give the pupils we work with the best chance of positively progressing.
The exams take place remotely too so pupils don’t need to travel out to an exam centre!

We can support with:
Entry Level 3 Maths Functional Skills;
Level 1 Maths Functional Skills;
Level 2 Maths Functional Skills;
Entry Level 3 English Functional Skills;
Level 1 English Functional Skills; or
Level 2 English Functional Skills
